Copper Water Cooled Brakes
WPT® Water Cooled Brakes (WCB) were designed specifically for constant slip and severe high heat braking applications where large thermal loads must be dissipated. Typical applications include Dynamometers, forestry/logging equipment, anchor handling and towing winches, mooring winch systems, petroleum drilling equipment and tension brakes. The brakes are air actuated and cooled with a continuous flow of coolant from either a closed or open loop cooling system. They are available with two actuation methods: either airtube or piston. The airtube is corrosion resistant and no special coatings or treatments are required. Field service is simple and error free. Retrofit kits are also available to convert an existing single or dual piston actuated WCB to an airtube actuation with no other modifications required.
Copper Water Cooled Spring Set Brakes
Similar to the WCB, the WCB/SS is a spring applied, air-release, failsafe brake. Typical applications include forestry/logging equipment, anchor handling and towing winches, mooring winch systems and petroleum drilling equipment.
Copper Water Cooled Brakes Dual Actuated
The WCB/DA combines air applied control and spring applied fail-safe features, is specifically designed for heavy duty braking and holding applications, where emergency stop and parking brake features are necessary. Typical applications include forestry/logging equipment, anchor handling and towing winches, mooring winch systems, petroleum draw-works equipment.
